Harvest is coming to an end in my neck of the woods. Recent rain has stalled some of the activity, but we've had days of beautiful October weather as well to help farmer's get the job done.
My sweet little gravel road turns into an interstate with empty grain trucks coming in and loaded trucks going out; combines maneuvering around poles and mailboxes; and vehicles transporting farmhands and meals.
Soy beans and corn come out of the fields around the clock. I've been woken up more than once at midnight by the headlights of the world's biggest combine coming down the road.
I love a night harvest and if you've never seen one, then add it to your list of things to see.
