Think Big, Shop Small, Keep it Local

Stop. Wait. Don't spend all your money on Black Friday!! Spend some of your hard-earned cash at hard-working small businesses...especially those that sell fiber and other handmade goods!

Remember when you shopped locally at the farmer's market this summer? Well, do it again for the holidays. Small businesses can be found in any city or rural township and many have an online presence if you're unable to visit in person.

Some of my faves: Prairieland Herbs has goodies for your mind and soul and lots of things that smell good , Fae Ridge Farm has an Angora goat with your name on it and sustainable yarns , Miss Effie's Flower has more than just flowers in her Summer Kitchen, and of course, Farm Genevieve has handspun yarns from a cast of local characters.

Who doesn't love a handmade gift from the heart??  I sure do. Hint. Hint. Hint.

Happy holiday shopping, everyone. Forget the big screen TVs and go straight for the yarn!
